A Merry and White Christmas

I don't think I have ever seen the kids as excited as they were this year - we tucked them into bed (I let Penny sleep with Sam on the bottom bunk) on Christmas Eve after feeding the reindeer and leaving cookies and milk for Santa around 10:00. Next thing I know Sam is getting in bed with us around 1:30- I sent him back to bed, hoping to get several hours of sleep before the "wild" starts- WRONG!!!! At 3:00 they both are wide awake and had turned on the TV, hoping to help matters and get them both back to sleep I go get in bed with them - maybe we got another hour of sleep before there was no keeping them in bed (it is now around 4:45). Penny let it slip that she knew she had a scooter and so did Sam- think they had been doing a little peeking....

The kids were really excited to see all the goodies Santa brought;

Sam got a PSP, tornado necklace, weights, scooter, and clothes.

Penny found an art table, Barbies, CD player, scooter, and clothes.

Jordan's pile was beautifully wrapped so no one could see her presents (she will be here later on today).

After looking at all the presents Daddy had one more surprise for Sam (and Penny)- He had bought the kids (thinking it is for Daddy too) a X-Box and the Kinnect!!! Can you say YIPPEE-

While we were playing with all the toys we noticed the weather outside about 5:30am - rain with a mix of snow flakes- how excited I got (think the kids were excited too) to think we were having snow on Christmas Day. As the morning went on the rain mix turned into more and more snow flakes ...this is about 7:30

by the time we reached Nana and Papa's house for breakfast (9:00am) there was LOTS of snow!!
The kids ate very quickly and rushed outside to have a snowball fight and to build a snowman (mostly Patton).

What a beautiful sight!! and on Christmas Day!!!!!

Jordan texted us to let us know she was on her way due to the snow and the possibility of roads closing- so we then went back home so she could see what Santa brought her.....
Jordan's gifts from Santa : Juicy purse and wallet, Chi hot iron, scarf, and goodies in her stocking.

The family all bundled back up and back over to Nana and Papa's for supper and presents.

What a great Christmas we have had.. From our family to yours we WISH you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!

Christmas Getaway

On Monday the cousins (Sam, Penny, Callie, Patton, and Smith) took off with the moms and nana to have a fun, filled getaway to the Opryland Hotel and to go to the Ice/Snow exhibit.

Inside the Ice exhibit it was 7 degrees (pretty cold) but thanks to the beautiful blue coats for keeping us "kinda warm". We walked through looking at all the ice sculptors until we found the ice slides- the "big" kids went running to get in line. Penny just cried and said she was cold and was not going down that slide..... well I took all I could and finial carried her up to the baby slide and made her go down. Well what do you know she LOVED it just like the others. Soon we were all just a little to cold to stay in there any longer- time for a warm -up.

Before and after supper we walked around to see the hotel at its prettiest.

Now to play in the SNOW.... They loved it and I think they would still be there if we would have let them.

Next morning look at still how beautiful

Never a dull moment with these silly kidos!!

Thank you Nana for taking us on this fun Christmas Getaway!!!!
