Opening Day 2010
The day has finial arrived- OPENING Day of Baseball Season- Sam's team this year is the CUBS!!
Penny, Callie, and Patton had fun waiting for it to start
(Penny was so scared when the teams started throwing candy at her- if it had not been for Pop, Penny would have not gotten any candy)
Next: was the introductions of the teams- Here comes the CUBS!!!
Back to the field at 1:00 for warm-up. Sam was really pumped about this - he was going to get to try to catch (mom not so sure about this). When I arrived at the field he was already in the catchers "stuff", Coach Blair was throwing him a few balls so he could get use to trying to catch. So far so good- well now it was time for him to try to catch the ball from the pitcher machine- 1st ball BAM!! hit him right in the arm. (insert CRY) Well our days of being catcher are OVER!!!
Our game started at 2:30 that afternoon. Sam did really well in his first Minor B game. He got two hits
(both singles) he played right field and backed up Lawson at first base really well, and the last inning he got sometime at pitcher. We did lose the game (7-14), but Sam is getting more confidence with himself in the league.

South Carolina Trip
On Friday we rode 8 hours with Martha (aunt) to South Carolina in the RAIN. We went straight to the hotel to freshen up and then back in the car, luckily to only ride for another 15 minuets to Lon and Gayle's (aunt and uncle) house for dinner. This is my dad's sister- her oldest son Bradley has recently gotten married and they were having a reception "pork pull" on Saturday for friends and family. This was the first time Sam and Penny have had a chance to spend much time with my side of the family- I was glad to be able to go to show off my two kiddos. (I really did not so well taking pictures)
Saturday morning the kids were up and ready for breakfast - then before 8:30 were in bathing suits ready for a swim.

That afternoon was the party- Sam and Penny looked really good (the way I wanted them to look).

We got to this Christmas Tree Farm where the party was located in a "big" barn - and found out they had a petting zoo. Well the kids had a blast looking at all the animals.

The party was wonderful. After that we went back to the hotel for the kids to enjoy a little more swimming. We took a little rest and then headed back to Lon and Gayle's for dinner again.

Sam was really looking forward to going back to their house he had found out that Lon loves to hunt and had killed an alligator.

Sunday morning we loaded up our bags and made that long ride home Safe and Sound!!

Snow in March????
Yes for the second year in a row we have had snow in the month of March- we got up Tuesday morning to see the snow coming down really hard - it was just not cold enough to stick on the roads- It was a beautiful sight (even though I am really ready for the sun).

The snow did not stop us from going to school so we bundled up and off to school we went- not before we had to play a few minuets (how many snowflakes can you catch???).

What a fun day to ride the bus! I sure hope this is the last post of the year for SNOW!!!

Follow the Yellow Brick Road
I took Jordan and Penny to see the play last weekend "The Wizard of Oz."

Callie and Patton were in the play so we could not wait to see them all dressed up in their costumes. Penny was so amazed during the whole thing- she loved every part of it!! When the play was over we got to go and see Callie and Patton on stage-

while we were on the stage Penny got to meet "Dorothy"

-she was beside her self with joy. The play was wonderful- Great job!!
