The week off....
During Spring Break we did not have much planned for the week (which by my standard is OK- but for the kids that is really BORING!!!!) The weather for the most part was very nice and so one afternoon we ventured off to the park for a little
and playing in the
I even got a picture of Sam that I will use for black mail if needed...ha ha
Penny is always ready for a snap shot .
Another afternoon I took the kids to see Diary of the Wimpy Kid (Sam loves reading those books- it was so funny he knew what was going to happen through out the whole movie). On Friday Sam had spend the night company (Smith) and Penny went off to Harrison's house for a girls night!!
On Sunday (Palms Sunday) after church we headed to Mallard Farms for Hide -n- Hunt.
They had lots of events planned for the kids-Sam always loves the zip line at the farm
and that was our first stop then off to the bouncie, cookie decorating, and Easter story before hunting for the eggs.
such sweet friends
Sam's group had lots of relay events -
before they began their hunt for ... jelly beans (what a cute but STICKY idea)

Thinking of Papa
Papa, Nana, and Michelle are getting on a plane today (6pm)leaving for Houston, Texas. They will meet with a team of doctors (MD Anderson)Monday morning @ 8:30 to discuss a plan for Papa. We already know that they will be there for at least 3 days maybe even more- while there Papa will have several scans and test so they can compare now to the others he has had in the past. Hopefully we will have some answers soon. Please be in prayer for this team of doctors and Papa!! Keep up with all that is happening through the blog (Update on Papa-Shawn's Dad).

Cookie Party
Penny was invited to another birthday party. This one was held at Mel's Sweet Treats for Penny's friend, Olivia (some how I have no picture of the birthday girl). The kids first went into the kitchen where they mixed together all the ingredients to make the cookie dough.
Then they floured the table and started rolling the dough to cut out the cookies.

While the ladies baked the cookies the birthday guest all went back to help decorate Olivia's birthday cake with icing, gummies, M&M's, and sprinkles.
Soon the cookies where ready to decorate-
Sam even got to decorate a couple.
This was what "beautiful" cookies we brought home from the party.
What a yummy party!!

Laugh, Run, Play
The mile run was held at Delano Park on Thursday. The weather was perfect for the event- and man is it an event(moms, dads, and the whole family come out to see this). Sam and his class have been practicing for weeks to get ready for this run in PE with Coach. Once Sam's class got off the bus they started stretching and as soon as the kindergarten and first graders finished it was second grades turn.
They have gotten really high-tech with the run, last year they wore bib numbers and this year they wore chips on their shoe to get the exact time . Sam's chip number was 781.
Sam and his buddy Luke
felt they MUST get on the front row and they were going to stay there till the GO was said.
I caught up with Sam at the half-way mark he looked like he was doing exactly what his dad had told -
steady and then kick it at the end.
Sam coming in with his friend Banks- they finished at 8:28. Quick facts: He improved his time by more than a minute(9:40), he came in 12th in the whole second grade class and was the first student from Mrs. McGrady's class. (He was pumped)
