Weekend of Fun

Friday night Sam started begging to sleep in a tent. Well the only tent I know how to make is with chairs and blankets- good enough for him. He slept in the tent Friday and Saturday morning begged me not to take it down. He and Penny played in it all morning.

I wanted to take a shower - so I asked Sam to please be Penny's babysitter. He wanted to know if I would pay him? Said sure! They were still playing in the tent- surly nothing could happen. Well this is what I found after my QUICK shower.
Getting ready is always hard with kids -well this is what Penny wanted to do this morning while I was trying so hard to get ready and take the kids somewhere. She wanted to put rollers in her hair like mommy. Well she does look pretty cute!

With all the stress that we have had this week worrying about our Papa, I wanted to do something fun this weekend with the kids. Shawn had not played golf in three weeks and so he was off before 8:00 Saturday morning(so he could watch football that afternoon). I quickly cleaned the house (well..... put up toys, dusted, made beds) . So we were off around 11 o'clock. We went to Bridge Street first to pick up a present and walk around. This place is so fun just to window shop and enjoy being outside. Sam rode the merry-go-round $2 for about 4 go arounds. Oh well it was fun. Penny just wanted to touch the water. After that we headed off the Costco to load up on lunch stuff. This was a fun day!

Star Student

This past week Sam was the leader! He was so excited about Thursday bringing home the "star student box". He had to fill it with his favorite toy- Indian Jones , favorite book - If you Give a Mouse a Cookie, and a picture of himself. He also had to answer three questions- favorite food- gummies, favorite color- red (because of Alabama), and favorite thing to do- play the Wii.

He is also looking forward to Monday because he gets to tell the Days News. He wanted to practice what he was going to say to us- "Today is Monday. I like to play with my cousins- Smith, Patton, and Callie. By- Sam."

Yea Penny!

After school I headed off to pick up Penny. When I reached the playground where Penny was playing she came running to meet me! Mrs. Mandy came quickly up to us for Penny to tell me what she did today- I said " Penny did you get put in timeout?" Mandy said NO- Penny started screaming "I Tee Tee in the potty"!!!!! I almost started crying- I was so happy but it is so sad when you don't get to witness the first. We did a Happy cheer all the way to the car and had to call Nana and then Jordan to tell them the great news. Then headed off to McDonald's for a treat (milkshake and Fry Fries). Tonight we did go to the potty once more before bath!! Yea for Penny. I told her we would get her some big girl panties tomorrow. Looking forward to the day of no more diapers (I think)

Penny Playing at School

When I picked up Penny Friday at school, her class was outside on the playground. She was having so much fun that she did not even notice I was watching her. She was playing with her friends- Lucy and Cecilia. She was running and sliding ......UNTIL she saw me!!! This is the best part of a day to be a mommy, when your child sees you and screams MOMMY and comes running into your arms!! It can make your bad day turn into a good day.

cute friends!

Jack with no Jill

On Thursday, Sam's kindergarten class had nursery rhyme day. They were to dress up as a character from a nursery rhyme. Sam dressed up as "Jack" - and our girl "friend" Meredith dressed as "Jill". Nana monogrammed shirt for both of them and found some really cute tin buckets that matched there shirts. I did not get to see them both dressed but I have been promised pictures. Sam came home and told me that Mrs. Hand was Mother Goose. I know it was a fun day.

Sam was looking forward to today- Library Day. Today was the first time they were allowed to check out a book. When Daddy picked him up from school, this was the first thing he talked about and could not wait to show him what book he got . As soon as they reached home Sam rushed in to get his library book out of his book bag. This is the book Sam checked-out!! We had a really good laugh over this!

This Labor Weekend marked the 2nd annual Bryd Bass Golf Tournament.

The European Team

Saturday night was opening ceremonies- both teams walked from the grave yard with a bagpipe player carrying team flags (European and America).

After opening ceremonies everyone enjoyed hamburgers, chicken fingers, wings, cheese dip and chips, and deserts-while watching Alabama's and Auburn's football games relaxing in their rented couches and watching 2 big screen TVs.(a TV for each game)

.

Roll Tide/ War Eagle

Sunday was the actual start of the tournament- Shawn and Scott (long time best friends) played together in their first match against Wes and Carlton. The USA gave them their first loss. Shawn played with Brad that afternoon- still not any better on beating the Americans.

Sam thinks he is the Europeans mascot- he has to dress like them both days (blue shirts and white shorts -Sunday; pink shirts and seersucker shorts- Monday)
