Field Day / Peace, Love, and Pre-K

This was a very busy day for me(mom)- I started off at Sam's field day (which is where I work- Leon Sheffield) and then to Penny's Pre-K program and then back to Sam's kick ball game against the teachers.

It started out a very HOT day but I don't think the children even noticed. They had all the stations ready and waiting on the students and ever 15 minutes the bells would ring and off to next station they would go. I spotted Sam at a few of these stations... the bouncy slide, volleyball, sack races/hurdles, and (his favorite) snow cones and mist spray. (they found out if you stand under the mist long enough you will become VERY wet)

I cooled off a little inside before leaving school and going to Penny's program. Mrs. Lynda made them all tie-dye shirts for the program. Penny's class sang 10,9,8.. Blast-off (I think I can sing it in my sleep I have heard it so much) they also said a Bible verse- The grass weathers and the flowers fade but the word of the Lord stands forever- Isaiah 47

Then all four pre-K classes came back on stage to sing a couple of favorite songs they sing with Mrs. Michelle each week- Deep and Wide and This Little Light of MineOnce the program was over we went upstairs for lunch- Thanks to Penny's teachers for such a wonderful year!! We Love Mrs. Lynda, Mrs. Catherine, and Miss. Alyssha!!!Now back out into the HOT to watch the second grade classes play kick ball against the teachers!! Sam had a great kick and got on base, but got "pegged" by Coach running to third. The teachers defeated the kids 24-23.... Boooooo (What fun)
Sam even had the chance to play first base and get his favorite 1st grade teacher OUT!

Dr. Seuss Showcase

For the last few months Sam's class has been studying about Dr. Seuss(with his Fine Art teachers). He has had the opportunity to ask questions, do research in the computer lab all about the life of Dr. Seuss. They also conducted surveys on what was their favorite Dr. Seuss book?? What do you know Green Eggs and Ham won by a land slide!! They also learn that there was a Broadway Musical - Seussical, which had several really cute songs that they learned and sang for us. After the program I went back to Sam's classroom to give Mrs. McGrady a teacher appreciation gift .
Sam and a few of his McGrady Buddies!

The Real Day- May 10

Penny had a great birthday on her "real" day- she took cupcakes(that we made the night before) to her school friends. She even had another cute shirt by Smitten and Co. to wear on her special day!!! When she got up that morning she could not wait to open a few presents from us.. I know she had a great day at school- she loved everyone hugging on her and wishing her a Happy Birthday. That afternoon on the way to the ball field (yes - her birthday supper was a yummy Hot Dog!!!) we stopped and had a little photo session...

Cheer Party for PENNY!

It is hard to believe that I have been planning a 5th birthday party for Penny. She is growing up right in front of my eyes- even though her weight is still 30 lbs(HA). She had a hard time deciding on what kind of party to have-ever since we started going to birthday parties back in March- she would leave that party telling me that is what kind of party she wanted.. Well we finial agree on a cheerleader party. My friend that I work with has a daughter that is a competition cheerleader .... and the rest of the planning is history. I found cute invitations with pom-poms at The Paper Chase, Smitten and Co. made her a super-cute cheerleader shirt, Hobby Lobby supplied me with all the decorations, Nana monogrammed her table runner, and Jennifer Farris made one precious cheerleader cake. We invited 13 of her friends from school and church. She was so happy when the day finial arrived (even though it was not her "real" birthday).

Sorry for so many pictures- I had a great photographer (Jordan- Penny's big sister and Callie- Penny's cousin). She caught all the action while I was busy getting things ready .... These two girls had a BLAST even if they were to "old" to get up and cheer (ha)!!

Penny was so taken by the "Real" cheerleaders when they arrived- all she could do was smile...but it did not take long for her to warm up to those sweet girls.

They got the party started with teaching the little girls a few cheers

then went into the stunts,

they even learned a couple of dances to Ice Creamy Cake and Peanut Butter and Jelly (love those songs),

the "real" cheerleaders had a special birthday cheer for Penny- Give me a P- Give me a E- Give me a N- Give me a N- Give me a Y- what ya got ???? PENNY say it again PENNY !!!

After all the cheers, tumbles, and dancing the girls were ready for Cake and Presents
What an awesome party she had- thanks for everyone making her 5th party a success!!! Look out world we have a sassy, bossy, prissy, sweet, cute 5 year old on our hands..... HELP ME :)
