Polar Express Party

Sam got invited to a Polar Express Party on Thursday (last day of school). It was a friend(Grayson) he went to preschool with in the 3year old and 4 year old class at First Baptist. Sam was very excitied about the party. They wore their pj's, ate pizza, made 2 ornaments, and decorated cookies. Then went upstairs and watched the movie Polar Express.

Sam had so much fun hanging out with the "boys"!! Thank you Grayson's mom for inviting him. He had a great time.

Christmas Program at Church

just before leaving for the program

Sam and his friends in the kindergarten class on Wednesday nights have been practicing hard on learning 3 Christmas Songs and studying about Missionaries. The teachers did a wonderful job preparing them. This year along with 3 songs they included speaking parts and Sam was asked by Mrs. Tommy Joe to tell about one of our missionaries serving in the Ukraine. Sam was up for the challenge. He and 4 others did a great job last night on their lines (in front of a full congregation).

Guess you came to our house

"ELF ON A SHELF" as Sam cried out this morning when he realized that there was the book under his Christmas tree. Sam went running through the house(Penny just running following Sam) looking for the Elf - "he must be hiding" he said. Well luckily we found him sitting high up in our Christmas Tree. Sam was so excited that he was thanking Bernard (Smith and Patton's Elf) for telling Santa that he wanted an elf. Next the fun part, coming up with a name-what about Frosty, Bama, Nick, or Larry. Yes Larry is our Elf's name!! Sam can not wait to see where Larry the Elf will be tomorrow when he wakes up.

Trip to Atlanta

On Friday we (Cheryl and Shawn) left to head to Atlanta with NO kids. I don't think that I have ever left them more than one night, so this was a little emotional for me on Friday telling them bye. Soon got over that! We were going to the SEC championship game - Alabama and Florida. We had so much fun, I don't think that I realized just how much this was needed for us. We met up with some friends on Friday night and went to Daily's. Saturday was a busy, cold "Roll Tide" dayOur seats in the Georgia Dome were WAY up high but they still were good seats (you could see everything). Sunday was back to reality, but it was a nice get-away for us.

G is for....

golf ball, gummies, goldfish, and GRANDPARENTS (nana/papa).

On Friday, at Eastwood, the kindergarten celebrated the end of their "G" week with a grandparents day. Papa got to come (nana had to work)and eat (Chicken Nuggets or Pork Roast) with Sam. It was so exciting for him- he got to introduce Papa to his whole class and presented him with a card he had made. The class also recited a poem for all the grandparents. After the visit it was time for Sam to give Papa a personal tour of the computer lab, music room, and the library. It was a fun day that Sam will always remember. Thanks Papa for coming to eat with Sam.

(David got 2nd place, Heather 2nd place, and or Daddy got 3rd place-he ran it in about 24 min.!!!!) Heather and Shawn getting ready for the race.
