Speeches and Parades

Friday started out with Sam running for Student Council Treasurer (which was news to us on that Thursday night). He was running against 18 other second graders (I have to say I thought there was no chance of winning). He was next to last to give his speech for treasurer- he got up on the stage with so much confidence (I would have NEVER done that in second grade). I was so proud of him (and all the others) for getting up there and doing such a great job.

That afternoon I picked him up (still not knowing the results of the election). He got off the bus as usually running full speed to the car

He let me know really quick that he was sad and had not won the election ..... NOT..... He did WIN!!


Proud momma moment!!!! We quickly called Dad and gave him the news.

We went to Penny's school to pick her up and went to the DHS homecoming parade- we hung around with lots of our friends



This cute group had so much fun waiting on the parade to start.

Finial the parade started and they caught lots of candy and yelled for cousin Patrick riding behind the sophomore float.

Getting into FALL

It is official - it is FALL (not really feeling like it - more like summer still around here)but none the less the calendar says Fall which means changing leaves, pumpkins, mums, and scarecrows. Penny and I went out on Saturday to go and buy a few of those things for our house...

H week

Penny studied the letter "H"- they finished the week with Happy Hair Day (crazy hair)

Jordan's Homecoming Week

Jordan is in the 9th grade and really involved in her school in Huntsville. She had homecoming last week and thanks to Facebook I got to enjoy ALL her pictures and see her all dressed up throughout her week of fun. They had dress up day the whole week;
Character day,

Twin Day,

Color Day (this is where each grade wore a different color- Freshman were tan),

and Tacky Day (her daddy was really proud of her on this day- Tacky= Auburn).

At the end of the week they also had a Homecoming Dance - when I saw these pictures of Jordan and her friends WOW!!!

Spend the Night

Sam had his first "friend" spend the night company this weekend. (Sam and Landon became great friends in first grade.) They hung out - jamming to music, playing with the itouch, WII games, and even at 7:30 Saturday morning they were outside hitting golf balls!! They are already planning the next spend the night get together.
