While Daddy is away the kids will play

This weekend daddy was gone with his friends to play in a golf tournament. While he was gone well we did lots to keep us occupied till he got home Sunday night (both kids were so excited when he got home- can't say I was sad either).

Started Saturday with a slip and slide birthday party!

Next, outside and played in the sprinkler and blowing bubbles. (I know white trash baby in a diaper. )

Penny loves shoes and we spent all weekend looking for her some "flop flops" - we all had to wear our flop flops to church. She is so proud of them- watch out Mary Reece there is a new shoe lover in town!!

This is our "new thing" putting on peoples clothes - Daddy's underwear and Sam's shoes, sock, shirt and shorts. What am I going to do with this girl!!

Oh,Oh,Oh- O-R-E-O

This was Penny's snack after dinner(only planned on letting her eat just a couple). Well as you will see she had other plans! This is how to eat an Oreo cookie- Penny style.

Just pull apart the cookie and lick the center clean!

Maybe there is an Oreo eating contest out there that she can enter!! ( OK if you count the cookies their is one missing - I confess to eating it, only after she took care of the center.)

One more trip...

to the hospital for Sam. We went back to see Dr. Parmer on Monday for a recheck but instead Sam was still not feeling good. He had been crying on Sunday night with his head and back hurting and still was crying on Monday in his office. Dr. Parmer thought for a little while and decided the best thing for him was another trip to the hospital for fluids , antibiotics and another spinal tab to help relieve the pressure in his head and back. This was not what Sam wanted to hear!!

Sam did GREAT this time with the IV and blood work!!! When we got ready for the spinal tab- Dr. Parmer took one look at him and could not believe how different Sam was feeling from morning to afternoon (his head and back pain was GONE!!) He did not have to do the spinal tab on him again, but wanted him to stay in the hospital till all fever was gone for over 24 hours.
24 hours is up and we have been free of fever and now we are going HOME!!! Sam was so glad!! Thanks to all the nurses at Dectur General for making his stay the best it could be!!!!

Sam's trip to the hospital

On Wednesday (July 2) Sam got sick that night, running fever and throwing up. I decided to take him to the doctor on Thursday (July 3)because he was still not feeling good and I could not get his fever down below 100. Took him to see Dr. Parmer around 1:20 on Thursday, he did not like what he saw and wanted to send him to the hospital over night and run some test. As a mother, you have to be brave but not so easy when you now that they are about to put anIV in and stick a needle in your child's back. We got to the hospital, they took us to room 408- Sam looked around (not knowing what was about to happen to him) and thought this room is pretty cool and he got even more excited when I told him that will serve him breakfast, lunch, and supper in bed. He loved pushing the buttons to make his bed go up and down. Soon the nightmare started when they took him down to put his IV in- I stood outside the door ready to rush in as soon as it was done. Standing there listening to him scream mommy, I want my mommy - was the hardest thing I have ever had to endure. I want to make it all better and you can't. Soon daddy came and Sam perked up when he gave him a surprise (Indiana Jones legos and Batman game) . I am still sitting there knowing we have to get through the spinal shot- Dr. Parmer came and was ready to get started, they had drugged Sam a good bit (well, they thought). He did a lot of fighting and talking crazy before they got what they needed. So glad when that was over. The nurse brought him back to the room and he sleep most of the night (when the nurses were not in there checking his blood pressure or his temp). We got the results and found out that he just had a bad viral infection. Glad this is over- he was happy to be home!!

Nurse Mandy taking his temperature

Sam lying in bed - feel better soon.

Sam loved having breakfast brought to him in bed.

Sam is getting his IV taken out- Did not even cry!!!

This is Sam leaving the hospital - around 5:00 on July 4th. YEA

Staring Penny!

Wiggle,Wiggle,Wiggle

This afternoon we were heading outside for an afternoon swim, when Sam came running to me and was screaming my tooth is loose!!!!

He was so excited. We had to call Papa (his is the official tooth puller of the family) and even go over to let him check it out. Papa told Sam to keep wiggling and it should be out within a week!!! Oh my, all I could think of is my baby loosing his first tooth- and pictures with a missing tooth (for kindergarten). All he can think of is what the tooth fairy will bring- What do teeth go for now days?? money? toys?

We will miss you!!

Penny loves her Big Sister - Jordan

Today we had to take Jordan back to her mom's house. I always dread this day coming - I will never forget the cries of Sam when we would drop her off and now Penny is doing the same thing - lucky for me Penny was asleep. You get so use to her being at our house for the month, and then you turn around and it is gone. I think she really had a great time this year, she always had something going and for a 12 year old that is IMPORTANT!!! Sam and Penny love it when she is here and they are already counting the days down till she comes back after her trip in July.

Jordan is great with Penny

One last swim yesterday to tell Jordan Good-bye
