First day for Penny

Penny woke up Wednesday morning really excited about the first day of school! She quickly had

and got these on

cause she was ready to wear her new

Then we headed out the

When we reached school I could not even slow her down she was that excited about going in and seeing her friends and new teachers for this year (Mrs. Ann and Mrs. Christy). I don't think she even knew when I left. I am so glad she was happy, which makes her mommy very happy. I hope she has a wonderful year.

Last Monday of Summer

There are just a few more days of summer before the school bell rings. So on Monday I took Penny, Sam, Smith, and Patton over to Bridge Street to see the last free movie of the summer- Flushed Away (we lucked up and not one of them had seen it). They enjoyed the movie and most of all the popcorn and drink. After the movie was over we walked down to ride the merry-go-round. What a fun morning with our cousins.

That afternoon we headed over to Sam's new school (Benjamin Davis) to see who his teacher was and "who" was in his class.

He was so excited to he his name on Miss. Ducker's list!!
What an awesome year we will have with her.

Getting ready for school

Over the last few weeks we have been gathering all the supplies needed to start back to school. Backpacks, notebooks, pencils, binders, lunchboxes, and everything else in between.

I think since Jordan has been in school she has always brought her list to our house for us to go shopping, this year was no different. She is going into the 8th grade at a new school, West Minister. Everything has to match and look just perfect!! She went for a pink, lime green, purple theme this year!

Sam and I picked his school supplies for first grade while Penny was at ballet camp - that gave us the time to spend alone with out Penny hollering she wanted this and that.We had a great time doing this- it is so hard to image that Sam is heading to first grade.

Penny is only in the 3 year old class so really all she needs is a backpack, lunchbox, and nap mat. Nana brought home from The Robin's Nest (in Hartselle) the cutest backpack ever. It has a cute little ballerina on it with her feet in first position- which made Nana think of Penny. All that is left to do for Penny's is to get her name put on both lunchbox and backpack.

Cooking 101

We have found a great supper idea that can involve the kids (well Sam thinks he is the chef). I bought the pizza making stuff - crust, sauce, cheese, pepperonis, sausage, chicken. Then we make our own pizza and Shawn takes it and puts in on the grill to cook- YUMMY!! So when Jordan came back this week Sam order that for supper again (so they could have a "cook-off"- Yes he is all about competition). The kids seemed to really have fun making their own pizza.

Head of Household

We are Big Brother fans at this house, and I know it is not the best thing for a 6 year old to watch but Sam loves all the things they make them do on the show. He has been wanting to have a Big Brother competition at our house - so we told him when Jordan came this week we would do just that. The competition for HOH was boys vs. girls in a game of putt putt. We went to

to play (Penny was so excited picking out her putter). The girls even had an extra player- Callie.

The girls were winning half way through and then it all fell apart for us -
The BOYS won HOH
(Penny looking for her ball on 18 - this was really funny cause she did not understand why she could not get it)

This was so much fun (Sam really was planning on the girls sleeping on the floor and eating slop- but I used my MOM power and said no thanks). He is already talking about what we can do for HOH next week.

Princess Penny

This whole week Penny has attended Princess Ballerina Camp at First Baptist. She has been looking forward to this week ever since she turned 3 in May. Sam and I took her ever morning at 9:30 (then we would hang out) then picked her up at 11:00. Each morning they had some type of art project to work on - and she talked non stop about all the snacks they had. I think she had a great time attending her first ballerina camp.

On Friday, they preformed for the parents what they had learned throughout the week.

is this not a cute bunch of "ballet girls"

Penny is showing us how to do ballet- she did great (not even afraid of being in front of all those people)

Penny's precious feet

at the end of the program they gave all the little ballerinas a certificate- She was so Proud!!

Thank you to Penny's teachers (Ella and Tara). She had so much fun this week and seemed to really listen and learn a lot. I enjoyed watching every minute of the program- it really made a mom fill proud of her little Princess
